Crean Tower

Crean Tower Inspection

Client: LERA, Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange

The 35-year-old, Philip Johnson-designed mirrored spire needed to be inspected for structural integrity. Sixth Eye captured the current condition with a combination of drone footage and 360° high definition photography to deliver a 3D model-based review technology through our proprietary web application so the structural engineer could do a remote inspection and export their report to the client. Limited access by physical inspection was overcome with our inspection tool, but it then became the communication tool to have downstream value for the client’s painting subcontractor to prescout the work to develop a working logistics plan for mitigation.

Services Provided:

  • Proprietary 3D Model-Based Inspection/Reporting Application

  • Reality Capture, Drone and Terrestrial

  • Gaussian Splat Processing

  • Full archival documentation package

Gaussian splatting reporting inspection tool for design grade collaboration.

Sixth Eye’s proprietary web application, pairot.app, empowered LERA's engineering team to inspect a 250’ free-standing structure with unprecedented efficiency. By leveraging an intuitive 3D web environment, the app immediately pairs spatial navigation with high-resolution imagery. This enabled the team to filter thousands of photos and hours of video in seconds, ensuring geolocated observations and critical comments remained synced to the model and prepared for report export. This delivered a high-value, data-driven inspection without the risk of lost information.

“Communication was top-notch and the final outcome was even better than we imagined. A great experience all around.”
